Submitted by Wes Sims on Thu, 08/13/2009 - 20:18The Ted Hendricks Foundation announced that Wolverine senior defensive end and Crockett Technical High School alum Brandon Graham is one of 30 preseason candidates for the Ted Hendricks Award for the second year in a row. The award is presented annually to the nation's top player at the defensive end position.
Graham is one of seven Big Ten Conference players on the watch list which includes Trevor Anderson of Michigan State, Jammie Kirlew and Greg Middleton of Indiana, Doug Pilcher of Illinois, Lawrence Wilson of Ohio State and Corey Wootton of Northwestern.
Wolverine fifth-year senior punter and native of Twinsburg, OH Zoltan Mesko has been named to the watch list for the Ray Guy Award, which is awarded to the country’s top punter, for the third straight season. Mesko is one of nine players on the 2009 preseason watch list. Mesko was a semifinalist for the award last season.

Player and members of the coaching staff will be scattered around at Al Glick Field House, Oosterbaan Field House and the practice field behind Schembechler Hall. The free of charge meet and greet/autograph session with the 2009 Wolverine football team is slated to run from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, August 23. Head coach Rich Rodriguez will be stationed at Al Glick Field house and will the sign one item per person. The location of all other Wolverine team members will be determined.
In Just Over Six Weeks
Submitted by Wes Sims on Tue, 07/28/2009 - 00:23In just over six weeks, the Maze and Blue return to the football field for their 130th season with a game at The Big House on September 5thgainst the MAC’s Western Michigan Broncos. This game, which kicks off at 3:30 will be on the ABC affiliate in the Ann Arbor, Detroit and Kalamazoo markets. The rest of the country will see the game on ESPN2. The Wolverines then host long time rival Notre Dame on September 12th at 3:30 which will be televised nationally by ABC. September 19th, the Eastern Michigan Eagles come to Ann Arbor for a noon kickoff and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Through the lumps the Maze and Blue took last season, there were a few high points to hang your hat on as a Wolverine’s fan.

Forcier turns some heads in Spring Game, WR Roundtree gains his focus
Submitted by Wes Sims on Thu, 04/16/2009 - 08:29Tate Forcier entered the Spring Game with most of the 50,000 fans at Michigan Stadium eye’s glued to him. By the end of the game, all 100,000 eyes were on Forcier. Running the first team offense, Forcier orchestrated a scoring drive on his first series, capped off by a touchdown run. Forcier was very modest about his success after the game.
